Álvaro Cabal

In 1990 he was appointed by the Supreme Court of Panama to hold the office of Judge of the Maritime Court. He exercised this position until 1996, when he was elected as Deputy General Counsel of the Panama Canal Commission, the government agency of the United States of America that administered the Panama Canal until 1999. Later he was appointed head of the Legal Department of the Panama Canal Authority, occupying the position of Vice President of Legal Counsel for the State institution that manages the Panama Canal. He retired from the latter post in 2016, highly recognized for his distinguished service.

Throughout his career, Mr. Alvaro Cabal has specialized and gained extensive experience in the areas of legal, administrative, contractual, corporate, commercial, litigation, public and private maritime law.
